Introduction of the Whiskey

Whiskey is made of grains and matured in barrels.
If divided according to major categories, alcohol can be divided into three types: fermented wine, distilled wine, and mixed wine. Among them, whiskey belongs to distilled spirits, which is a kind of hard liquor.
Many countries in the world are brewing whiskey, but the common definition of whiskey is “wine is made of grains and matured in barrels”. The three conditions of grain raw materials, distillation, and barrel maturation must be met at the same time before it can be called “whiskey”. Therefore, brandy which is made of grapes is definitely not a whiskey. Gin, vodka, and shochu which is made of grain as raw materials and not matured in barrels of course can not be called whiskey.
There are 5 main producing areas of whiskey (see the table below), and they are called the world’s top five whiskies.
